“Bonjour à tous! My name is Florence Delamare and I am a French native speaker. I was born in France, but ended up spending most of my adult life in Egypt. Hello Dear Friends!

My name is Laure Couturier. I am French, and I have lived in Abu Dhabi since October 2006.

Unlike most of my fellow teachers, I did not come from the academic sector where one studies languages (and literature) in order to be able to become a teacher of languages. I am a civil engineer and have taught the manual of technical design and computer-aided design at the beginning of my career. Then, I taught methods of adopting and dealing with software.
When I decided to devote more time to my family and have a part-time job at the same time, I have been oriented by nature to teaching; because I had found my previous experiences very useful and enriching. I decided to go on a 1 year training to teach French.

Teaching Methodology

I have a good knowledge in terms of work experience, thanks to my background and the necessary know-how for a person who would like to learn French for professional reasons. Therefore, I can adapt my teaching precisely to your needs. Moreover, unlike the traditional approach for teaching languages, the teaching of designing has provided me with a different method. It is a result-oriented method more than a means of achieving it. Therefore, I use very different approaches and mobilize several meanings (indeed, everyone learns and memorizes his/her own way either by listening and reading, along with practical exercises, but also drawings, gestures, movements, sketches, feeling tangible objects, etc... Everyone can find his own way of mastering what he learns, depending on whether he or she prefers aural, visual or kinesthetic rather being imposed with a teaching method.

Be Francophone!

French is known as a difficult language, but with the right approach, it is possible to become a francophone (French speaker). The most modern method used today is called the “action-oriented” method, because it is solely based on action. As a student, you will have to perform actions (or tasks) to realize the objective and thus be active and successful. By this approach and use of documents and stories in French (often taken from the Internet), I propose to take you on a trip to the French-speaking world. I am an examiner for the Diploma of French Language Studies (DELF) and the Test of Knowledge of French (TCF) / Evaluation Test of French (TEF), so I am well equipped in helping you prepare for these exams if necessary.
